RHSC’s "Financial Aid Fund" Helps Child with Hearing Loss

akabel2

Isabella is a bright and happy 8-year-old who has hearing loss in both ears. Last year, she obtained hearing aids at RHSC despite her family having to travel nearly two-hours for her appointment, as we were the closest clinic that accepted her insurance. Unfortunately, after receiving them, Isabella’s hearing aids were lost this past year, and her insurance does not cover the cost to have them replaced. Her family would have had to go to great lengths to cover the out-of-pocket cost of new hearing aids.

Rochester Hearing & Speech Center’s Financial Aid Fund, which was set up to enable us to continue our nonprofit mission of serving our community’s needs in hearing health regardless of our client’s ability to pay, is made possible by the generosity of our donors. This fund was able to replace Isabella’s hearing aids, allowing her to continue experiencing and communicating with the world around her!
