RHSC's Super Hear-Os Assemble Yet Again to Support "Communication for Life!"

On a beautiful Sunday last month, families, friends, donors and sidekicks gathered, many wearing superhero costumes, and walked, ran, rolled and strolled for a really great cause. On June 22nd, they came out for Rochester Hearing & Speech Center’s second annual Super Hear-O 5K & Family Fun Day, an event to celebrate the superheroes making a difference in the lives of individuals with hearing health needs and children with developmental disabilities served through our nonprofit mission of “Communication for Life.” This inclusive and family-friendly event, geared toward all ages and abilities, featured a 5K Walk/Run and a one-mile paved walk/roll or stroll option.

This year's race also featured a fun-fueled Super Kid Zone filled with fun activities by Rochester Foam Dart League, Dream Big Party Co., Brooklyn Robot Foundry, Bach to Rock, Girls On The Run, Al Sigl, ESL Federal Credit Union, Al Sigl Community of Agencies and Equitable Advisors. Waiting to cool down our participants at the end of the event was Netsin’s Ice Cream Truck.

Powered by the generosity of our Presenting Sponsor, Vero Financial Group, this year's sponsors also included Wegmans, Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield, Audacy, News 8 WROC Rochester, Kids Out And About/Beyond The Nest, Dasher International, Brown & Brown Insurance, Canandaigua National Bank, Davie Kaplan, Brooklyn Robot Foundry, Optimax, Equitable Advisors, ESL Federal Credit Union, Bach to Rock, Heveron & Company, Greater Rochester Health Foundation, Al Sigl Community of Agencies, Pooler Enterprises and Bob Malone Homes. News 8 WROC-TV's Natalie Kucko was the SUPER emcee for our event!

Rochester Hearing & Speech Center provides both hearing health testing and treatment for individuals of all ages, but we also provide Early Intervention and Preschool Developmental Services to our youngest and most vulnerable children, many of whom are currently on the waitlist for Early Intervention services in Monroe County. Our team of audiologists, special education teachers, speech-language pathologists and occupational and physical therapists are superheroes who change the lives of so many every single day. Didn't make it to this year's event, but still want to be a Super Hear-O? Please consider making a donation to RHSC by visiting our donation page!
