"I was diagnosed as hard-of-hearing at age 7 and... the impact was not being able to hear my child whisper "secrets" to me; not being able to clearly understand someone at a distance, and not being able, even with aids, to ever feel comfortable in a large room with people talking - hard to focus on one person's voice. Aids helped me to feel whole; provided me the missing "link" per se in understanding garbled words; allowed me to continue to function in a working world.
I've been to other audiologists but recently came back. I really love RHSC's supportive and relaxed approach.
If anyone has any suspicion of hearing loss, get tested - hopefully at RHSC. Get yourself a mentor to help you understand the changes that aids will bring into your life. I have referred over 5 people to RHSC."

“Before, I couldn't go to plays or concerts because I couldn't hear well. Some TV shows were not audible enough. My hearing aids that Deborah fit for me made it possible for me to hear normal speech, plays, concerts, and TV shows comfortably. It's amazing! I would totally recommend RHSC to anybody with a hearing problem. The clarity of Deborah's explanations was tremendously helpful.”

"My hearing problem affected me in all realms of everyday living, but especially in my job as a pediatric hi-tech nurse caring for kids on all sorts of life saving machinery. I could not hear the alarms from another room or I would get confused as to what alarm was going off. With my new digital hearing aid from RHSC I'm able to hear and distinguish sounds very clearly, even in noisy groups or a lot of machinery running. I recommend this type of hearing aid to people who have hearing losses all the time! It has made a big difference in my life!"

“We had trouble hearing at church, family gatherings, and restaurants. We also had difficulty hearing our grandchildren. Thanks to RHSC and our hearing aids we no longer have these problems. With our hearing aids we aren't shouting at each other anymore. We joke that our hearing aids have saved our marriage. That's good because we've been married 46 years. We have quite a few friends (our age) that have hearing problems - - we show our new aids to them and tell how much RHSC has helped us.”

"I am a very social person, and I knew my hearing problem was significantly reducing my participation in, and enjoyment of, social activities with family and friends. I am extremely please that my hearing aids have improved my quality of life to a greater extent than I thought possible. I no longer have to ask my family and friends to repeat themselves. Also, I can now fully participate in meetings, social gatherings and even college courses I am taking just for fun! I have also started going to the theater and movies again. I tell everyone I know how wonderful Traci-Lynn was to work with. I also spread the word about the 45 day trial period allowed for by law. What a great reason to try them out to see if they will help you."

"I could not hear other people in a group correctly. I misunderstood what was being said. Also at church I could not hear what the priest was saying. I found Traci-Lynn Farley to be very helpful and she is very well educated in her work. She is very charismatic. I would recommend Rochester Hearing and Speech Center and in particular Traci-Lynn very highly to anyone who needed help with hearing loss."
