Audiologist

We are currently seeking Audiologists to:

  • Provide comprehensive diagnostic audiology and hearing aid dispensing services in the clinic, on our mobile unit or on-site at nursing homes.
  • Provide value-added hearing health services including:
    • dispensing of assistive device products
    • hearing health classes
    • on-site hearing screenings at health fairs and educational seminars
    • hearing loss prevention education at health fairs and in the community
  • Provide on-site industrial hearing conservation via our mobile unit
  • Provide comprehensive central auditory processing evaluations

We are dedicated to continuous improvement of clinical skills through department meetings, inservices, workshops, individual and group training sessions.

Occupational Therapist (certified and registered)

Job Summary:

Provides occupational therapy evaluations for pediatric population; direct and consultative occupational therapy services; develops individual service plans and may provide appropriate supervision; maintains working relationship with families and other professionals maintains quality of services. Twelve-month position.

Key Job Tasks:

  • Provide occupational therapy to assigned caseload.
  • Provide occupational evaluations as assigned by program coordinator/Director of Speech Operations.
  • Counsel/advise client and family with regard to the identified service needs and therapy.
  • Establish effective working relationship with other professionals involved with the delivery of service to the client.
  • Complete written reports, client data and other clinical records in accordance with agency guidelines and the program to which assigned.
  • Participate in program, department, and agency meetings as well as serve on special project committees when requested.
  • Follow established agency and department policies, procedures, objectives, safety practices, environmental, and/or infection control standards and assist in achievement of continuous quality improvement objectives.
  • Participate in continuing education activities to maintain New York State licensure.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Baccalaureate or master’s degree in occupational therapy or a post-baccalaureate certificate in occupational therapy from an institution acceptable to the Accreditation Counsel for Occupational Therapy Education.
  • Valid State of New York license to practice Occupational Therapy.
  • Knowledge of current therapy and evaluation procedures to address a range of occupational therapy needs, including sensory-integration.
  • Ability to diagnose impairments in the area of occupational therapy, write a treatment plan, obtain appropriate medical prescription for the implementation of the plan and implement appropriate counseling, follow-up and referrals.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety and infection control standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Commitment to professional continuing education.
  • Ability to provide technical advice, guidance and support to professional staff in area of specialty.
  • Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.
  • Ability to make procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Must have and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License, maintain automobile insurance coverage and have an automobile available for business use.
